CO2 Fire Suppression System
Under typical atmospheric conditions of temperature and pressure, carbon dioxide is a colorless, odorless gas approximately 1.5 times denser than air. It is non-flammable, does not support combustion, and is non-sustaining of life. When contained in a suitable pressurized vessel, carbon dioxide can exist in solid, liquid, or gaseous states depending on temperature and pressure variations.
Utilizing a high expansion ratio, this CO2 Fire Suppression System achieves rapid discharge and thorough three-dimensional penetration throughout the hazard area. It efficiently extinguishes fires by lowering oxygen levels below combustion-sustaining thresholds with its heavy gas blanket.
The high pressure CO2 system is a specialized fire suppression solution designed to store carbon dioxide at 850 psig (21˚C) in durable alloy steel cylinders. These cylinders are sized to provide adequate CO2 for protecting large-scale hazards. For extensive hazards requiring multiple cylinders, a manifold system connects them via hoses and valves. Cylinder valves regulate CO2 flow through appropriately sized piping to discharge nozzles that apply the agent. Flow rate is managed by nozzle orifices and pipe dimensions. Electronically operated master valves and pressure-actuated slave valves ensure precise control, supporting both automatic and manual operation modes.
