Fire Hydrant System
A modular fire suppression system utilizes discrete units or modules for its operational framework. Similar to other fire suppression systems, its objective is to respond promptly to active fires by employing specific materials and procedures designed to extinguish flames, contain fire propagation, and mitigate potential fire damage. This approach ensures systematic and efficient fire management aligned with standard fire safety protocols.
Unlike conventional fire suppression systems integrated into building plumbing, modular systems operate as an independent network of standalone units. They do not require building plumbing integration, structural modifications, or installation in every building area, offering flexible deployment and efficient fire protection capabilities.
Fire Hydrant System
- Fire hydrant installations connect pipework directly to the water supply main, ensuring water distribution to every hydrant outlet for firefighting.
- Water is discharged into fire engines, which pump and spray it onto fires as needed.
- Hydrant pumps are installed where water supply is unreliable or insufficient to pressurize fire mains effectively.
- The pipework remains pressurized constantly, facilitating immediate water supply activation for fire suppression.
- A jockey pump maintains network pressure, automatically addressing minor leakages or pressure drops, stopping at preset levels.
- During firefighting, the main pump automatically activates to supply adequate water volume, ensuring immediate water availability from all hydrant posts.
